Q and A with a Tea Farmer

Q1. When you usually begin to pick Dragon Well tea?

A:  Generally speaking, we pick tea around on 20th March before Qingming Festival.

Q2. How many tea leaves you may pluck for one day?

A:  A skilled worker picks fresh leaves around 500g for one day. And usually, 500g dry tea needs to be made by 2000g fresh leaves. That’s to say, four workers just make 500g dry tea each day. It is a hard work.

Q3. How do you fry your tea, by hand or by machine?

A:  In old days, all Dragon Well is dried by hand, but in recent years, some machines are being used. But I still insist to make tea by hands which make better fragrance and shape.

Q4. How to keep this tea and how long it could be kept?

A:  Usually, it can be kept for one and half a year in a dry and cool place.
